If you try the other way around, ignoring the future while trying to change the past, you will be worrying over that which you have no control, and your future will be dim as long as you are looking into the past. Accept what has gone before as it is.
When you look into the mirror of the outward world, you see yourself and you do not like what you see. This is because you are studying your past, for who you are now is a perfect record of who you have been. Now when you look into the mirror of the inner world, this is Jesus Christ. He is who you are to behold when you look inward.
As you behold him, you become like him. As you behold the one on the outside, you become worse, and as you behold the one on the inside, you become better. This is the future which you can improve. Let the past be an acurate record of where you bave been, and not be ashamed of your past.
Whatever you see in the past which is shameful, let it be a lesson to you. Study the truth to know how to be unconcerned with outward appearances.
The adversary believes he has you surrounded because he is the father of lies; rise by forgiveness and mercy out of his grip. Let the Holy Spirit have way in your life until your obedience is that of and angle, and you will see the greater power flowing forth.
