Brothers, it strikes me as a warning not a commandment. I see the wisdom in it and have failed to heed the warning upon occasion. In my enthusiasm to proselytize, I have caused myself great anguish.

In this day and age it may well be that our time to work the fields sowing the seeds has past and it is time to harvest only. Having done some farming in my time, I understand that there is a time to sow and a time to reap. As the ages have passed; these cycles of seasons have presented us with the opportunities appropriate to each season. We must recognize the season we are in at any given time.

Following the advise of our Lord, it would be foolish to try to convince a Secular-Progressive the truth of the Book of Mormon. Just as it is futile to proselytize an avowed atheist. A person expresses an interest or curiosity when they are able to appreciate a pearl. Another prospect is one who has been brought to their knees. (Which is sad that it would come to that before they listen!) It is my observation that we may be in a time of harvest and our efforts would best be served in that endeavor. Just look at the scattered flock! Looks like a big need for the round-up to begin.
