Unless I am mistaking the meaning of your question, I would answer, in the same way that Adam was able to believe on Jesus, become obedient to His gospel, repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Spirit, and receive forgiveness of his sins through the blood of the Lamb, thousands of years before Jesus was even born.

Is that answer a cop out? :)
