I have heard that we cannot be perfect, that everyone has fallen short, and that we are all sinners... well, I sort of believe this (in part)
And I have heard Jesus is our perfection, and it is only by his righteousness, and the work at the cross, or by his blood we are made perfect. And I believe this as well... but I when Jesus told us to be perfect, I think that command included action on our part, an exercise of freewill that makes right choices, and not simply saying because we believe on Jesus we have become perfect. I believe it may be a combination of His righteousness along with our choices...

I believe our flesh can become perfect through the power of Jesus. I don't believe we have to sin. I believe we can become perfect, even as the Father is perfect, because Jesus told us to be perfect as He is. But, I must admit, I have never seen anyone maintain a state of perfection (in the flesh), at least, not if we define perfection as that the person never sinned again.

I believe true perfection is a process... not something we just achieve over night, ...nor do I believe a state of perfection means we never, ever sin again.
I believe perfection is a path we walk in relationship with Jesus.
I believe we can, and are commanded to reach a point where we sin less and less, ..perhaps even reach a point where sin is rare to non-existent. I believe Enoch did this, for example. But just because we might sin, doesn't mean we cannot be perfect. I believe all those who earnestly walk the path toward perfection are covered by grace, and by the blood, and are therefore counted as righteous (perfect), even if they aren't fully manifesting that perfection in the flesh yet.

Through Jesus we can be made clean and perfect by being humble, repentant, and continuing to strive for perfection...  We cannot be perfect if we willingly, rebelliously, choose to sin, but those who walk in perfection may stumble from time to time, as is part of the human condition. So long as we learn from those mistakes, and grow, and don't continually repeat them... Bottom line, I believe if we are earnestly on the path to perfection, then through the blood of Christ, we are made perfect. Because of the grace of God, we are counted perfect.

I don't know if I made any sense there... but anyway, maybe that will open up a discussion.
