After writing this I found myself exploring (reasoning out) different aspects of what this path to perfection really means for us. Two examples came to mind.
First I pictured Adam and Eve in the garden where they existed with God in a state of innocence. There existence was in serving God by tending to the garden. When they received agency they became conscious of the choice to obey Gods commands or not. After they ate, they became aware of their individuality (their nakedness) and found themselves in a state of having to choose a life of living with God or apart from God.
Having suffered the sorrow of being expelled from the garden, wisdom became the guiding influence to not rebel any more and to live as God asked. This gave them the ability to reason out all their future choices knowing the difference between the joy in their right choices and sorrow for the wrong. Through judgment they acknowledged how much they needed God to preserve their lives and how they needed to totally rely on him for all things.
Finally, we see how their perfection was made complete in love when we read:
"And in the day Adam blessed God, and was filled, and began to prophesy concerning all the families of the earth; saying, "Blessed be the name of God, for because of my transgression my eyes are opened, and in this life I shall have joy, and again, in the flesh I shall see God."And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad saying, "Were it not for our transgression, we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient…" Genesis 5:10-11 Inspired Version
For the second example we only need to look at ourselves:
Our children are born into this existence and live a life protected by the grace of God until they reach an age of accountability or consciousness. We become aware of choosing a life dedicated to God or one led by self will. Through our baptism we seek to establish a path where we live one on one with God and our individuality is made manifest in how we covenant with him or ourselves.
On this path we develop wisdom through the effects of our choices. Through reason we have the ability to
discern between right and wrong as we continue to walk with God or seek our own paths. Through judgment we make our life's choices in
where our path will take us and love is shown in now we choose to walk the path of our choice.
Still pondering...
