1. the website. www.hopeofzion.com
2. the message board.
These are two totally different things ... on different servers, each costing money.
A dear friend paid for the name hopeofzion.com, registering it for years to come.
The server where the hopeofzion website resides costs me money to host the website. I get charged about $30 every 3 months.
The message board only costs about $50 for a whole year to be ad free.
The main hopeofzion website is often neglected, and I don't think it is used very often. I haven't kept it up to date.
I am pondering doing the following, and would like your opinion.
I am thinking of removing the main website, and ridding myself of the cost. I would move whatever articles, testimonies, and information is on the website to a "HopeofZion library" forum here on the message board, where there would be no discussions, it would be read only, but you could access the information that is currently on the hopeofzion website, so none of it would be lost.
I would point the www.hopeofzion.com url to this message board, so when people went to hopeofzion.com, it would send them here. That would be the url of the message board. The message board would become hopeofzion. The two sites would merge. If we did this, I think I could more easily afford to keep the message board as free. And we would consolidate the two sites, and reduce cost.
What are your thoughts?
